Business Need / Purpose of Role

Seeking a self-motivated driven individual with a proven track record in rotating equipment aftermarket sales, for the position of Customer Service Engineer covering the Southern Iraq market. Ideal candidate should have a mechanical engineering background combined with experience in selling rotating equipment and sound knowledge of oil and gas equipment industry. Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical service-oriented organization with a rapidly expanding customer base, should be target driven and able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.

Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

Including but not limited to:
  • Achieve sales turnover and profitability in line with company objectives.
  • Identify key projects and expand Customer base.
  • Building relationship with key personnel (decision makers) within a customer’s site.
  • Understanding customer needs through holding technical discussions with clients and provide solutions to their requirements accordingly.
  • Staying up to date on service capabilities for enhancing sales.
  • Preparation of presentation and proposals to obtain new orders including proper review of customer specifications and commercial requirements.
  • Coordinating and resolving customer service issues in a manner that retains the customer and provides opportunity to additional revenue in the future.
  • Timely submission of Marketing/Sales reports.
  • Assisting the finance department in collecting unpaid debts.
  • Organize efficient travel within agreed budgets.
  • Management of entertainment budget.
  • Ensure completion of customer satisfaction reports.
  • Interact with the operations department to ensure that the customer requirements are met as per their expectations.

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Degree in engineering or equivalent qualification with around 5 years experience in technical rotating equipment sales and strong knowledge, understanding, and experience of rotating equipment products and process control industries. Should have good knowledge of engineering principles and practices as well. Experience in selling, repair and servicing of rotating equipment, pumps, and valves.


Language Skills:
Strong interpersonal, communications skills and outstanding ability to develop relationship with others. Must be bilingual in spoken and written Arabic and English.


Computer Skills:

Must possess good computer skills with experience in putting together presentations and working with Microsoft excel.


Other requirements:
Must be a "Self Starter" and have the ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems. Be results oriented with a “a go getter” attitude and driven to over achieve budgets. Must be an Iraqi National and hold a safe driving record and valid drivers license.
